The Marianas Visitors Authority continues to expand its Asian travel trade partnerships to other countries including Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia with a recent familiarization tour.

The tour, held on March 15-19, 2017, is another step in MVA’s expanded reach beyond the Marianas’ primary source markets of Korea, China, and Japan.

The tour was held in cooperation with Philippine Airlines and highlights the increased accessibility of the Marianas to international travelers via the Philippines.

Travel trade companies joining the familiarization tour included: Top 1 Travel Service Corp. Sdn Bhd, Sin Chung Tours Sbd Bhd, Star Travel, Joyful Holidays Co. Ltd., Viettours, Go Holiday Co. Ltd., Antavaya Travel, Chan Brothers Travel, and Giamso International Tours.

“With a growing number of international flights to the Saipan International Airport, the Marianas is more accessible than ever to travelers seeking a unique travel experience,” said MVA managing director Christopher A. Concepcion. “The connection on Philippine Airlines through Manila opens a whole new world of travelers for us, and this [familiarization] tour will help get the word out.”

The tour members experience a wide variety of activities, including snorkeling, parasailing, and scuba diving on Managaha, a submarine tour, and a tour of scenic and historic sites on Rota, Tinian, and Saipan.

Dining experiences included Aqua Resort Club Saipan, Joyful Dinner Show at Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, dinner at Kensington Hotel Saipan, Saipan SandCastle cocktail show, JC Café, dinner at Best Sunshine Live, and Rota Resort & Country Club.

The group also inspected Hyatt Regency Saipan, Grandvrio Resort Saipan, Saipan World Resort, Kanoa Resort, Pacific Islands Club Saipan, Coral Ocean Golf Resort, LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort, Kensington Hotel Saipan, Best Sunshine Live gaming facility, and Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, where they lodged during their tour.
