Bridge Capital extends deadline for art competition

Bridge Capital, LLC is extending the submission deadline for the 2nd Annual Art Competition to Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at 12pm. The competition aims to promote and support the talented artists of the CNMI.

The art competition is open to any CNMI resident who has been residing in the Commonwealth for at least one year. The contest has been split into two divisions with an open competition for individuals 18 years and older and the K-12 competition for students from kindergarten through 12th grade.

The contest is open to two-dimensional and three-dimensional works of art and must have a CNMI theme. All entries must be the artist’s original work. No computer generated or digitally enhanced submissions will be accepted. A maximum of two entries can be submitted per person.

The winning artworks will be selected by a panel of judges composed of government leaders and business community representatives.

Winners for the open competition will receive $500 for third prize, $1,000 for second prize, $1,500 for first prize, and $2,500 for the grand prize.

The top student entries from kindergarten to 12th grade will receive $100, while the classroom teacher of the winning student will receive $100 store credit for school supplies at National Office Supply.

There will be an awards presentation and winning entries will be displayed in an arts exhibition to be attended by the winners and their family members.
