Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho convicted yesterday a man accused of pulling the hair of his common-law wife at their residence in Upper Miha.
Camacho found that the prosecution presented enough evidence to prove that Brandon Camacho Wanket committed the charges.
The judge found Wanket guilty of assault and battery, disturbing the peace, criminal mischief, interfering with a domestic violence report, and resisting arrest.
Wanket will be sentenced on Aug. 8, 2012, at 1:30pm.
Assistant attorney general Margo Brown prosecuted the case. Assistant public defender Matt Meyer served as counsel for Wanket.
Police detective Catherine B. Pangelinan stated in her report that police officers responded to Upper Miha on June 22, 2011, at 4:48am after receiving a call about a disturbance.
The officers saw the victim crying in the driveway. She told the police that Wanket pulled her hair, causing her to fall to the ground.
The officers spotted Wanket near the house. He was uncooperative when the officers tried to handcuff him.
