Suspended lawyer Atalig arrested for domestic violence

Suspended attorney Antonio M. Atalig was brought to the Superior Court this morning, Tuesday, after he was arrested for allegedly assaulting his two minor children and threatening to kill them and their mother.

Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $25,000 cash bail for the 55-year-old Atalig on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, child abuse, and disturbing the peace.

Police said the incident happened on Sunday afternoon at Atalig's residence in Papago.

Atalig, who was allegedly intoxicated, yelled at his wife and two children to leave the house or else he would kill them all. He then allegedly slapped his 10-year-old daughter on the cheek and struck her with a PVC pipe on the body.

Atalig then allegedly threw a rock at his 9-year-old child, but missed. Police officers later came and arrested the lawyer.
