A woman was injured after her boyfriend allegedly beat her up, threatened to kill her, and pointed a machete at her on Friday in Dandan.
Ramon R. Agulto, 37, was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.
Police said the victim sustained scratches and bruises on the right arm and chest. She also complained of pain in the back of her head.
Superior Court associate judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed yesterday a $10,000 cash bail for Agulto's temporary release. Preliminary hearing will be on Aug. 6 at 9am. Arraignment will be on Aug. 13 at 9am.
Assistant attorney general Darren Robinson said the government is extremely concerned with the possibility that the suspect will follow his threat of killing the victim.
Police detective John D. Cabrera stated in his report that two police officers responded to the Dandan baseball field on Friday at 5:28am after receiving a call about a domestic violence incident.
Cabrera said that when the officers arrived at the scene, the victim was seen sitting in the driver's seat of a car and was shaking.
Preliminary investigation showed that at 3am that same day, Agulto had insisted on leaving the house but the victim tried to stop him.
Agulto allegedly grabbed her hair, dragged her inside the house and was yelling at her.
The suspect also allegedly grabbed the victim by the neck, forced her to the ground and began punching her. She covered her head with her arms as Agulto continued punching her.
The victim begged him to stop but the suspect instead allegedly began kicking her in the body. He then left.
After the interview, the officers proceeded to Agulto's residence but did not find him there.
Later, at 11:41am that same day, two other police officers responded to Dandan after Agulto allegedly assaulted the victim again.
Police learned that when the victim was about to leave the house with two companions, Agulto blocked their vehicle and threatened to kill her.
Agulto also allegedly threatened to hit his girlfriend's vehicle from behind if he ever sees her going anywhere.
Agulto also approached the victim's vehicle and allegedly pointed a machete at her.
The victim told police that Agulto also assaulted her before in front of her children, mother, and other family members.
