Anna Rose Deleon Guerrero was awarded a $1,200 scholarship which she will use in studying musical theater at Northern Kentucky University. According to the Fund, the award was the first granted by the organization since it began supporting the arts many years ago.

In a statement, the Fund indicated that the recognition is provided to a student who has shown enormous dedication to the theater arts over many years.

“The Fund, after evaluating her application felt Anna Rose Deleon Guerrero was eminently qualified for such recognition and assistance for her many years of work in acting, music and dance through her Thespian Troupe at Saipan Southern High School, in productions with The Friends of the Arts, and in productions and competitions with The Thespians of the Western Pacific Islands,” said the Fund, adding that Deleon Guerrero also demonstrated her superior skills at the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, Nebraska where she both competed in individual events and performed in chapter select showcase productions.

“Her years of work are a testimony to her sincerity in reaching the goal of being a life-long performing artist as well as proof of her dedication to school and community service. This award will forever be based on a future student living up to the standards of work and dedication Ms. Deleon Guerrero has set,” added the statement.

The Fund added that it is confident that Deleon Guerrero's work at Northern Kentucky University will be a success based on her history of hard work and study in the CNMI. The CNMI will miss her dedication and performances here, but we will continue to be proud of her work in the future,” said the Fund.
