U.S. District Court for the NMI designated judge Frances Tydingco-Gatewood has concurred with the appointment of Lillian Pangelinan as acting administrator of the NMI Retirement Fund.
Tydingco-Gatewood on Wednesday granted Fund trustee ad litem Joseph C. Razzano's request to approve his appointment of Pangelinan.
Pangelinan is the Fund's chief internal auditor. Razzano made the appointment on Monday.
Razzano said he finds Pangelinan well qualified for the position.
The trustee ad litem said the Fund is in need of a competent acting administrator to act as chief executive officer and to oversee its daily operations.
Tydingco-Gatewood appointed Razzano, a Guam tax lawyer, as trustee ad litem for the Fund last week.
Tydingco-Gatewood said the law firm of Civille and Tang law firm in Guam will serve as trustee ad litem and Razzano will serve as its principal representative. Razzano is a member of the law firm.
