In the spirit of the holidays, the Japan Saipan Travel Association and its tourism partners gave the gift of community service to clean up the main tourist district of Garapan on Dec. 22, 2012.
Seventy-five volunteers, including 24 children, joined the cleanup, held on both the roadside and beach from the Carolinian Affairs Office to Micro Beach. Groups joining JSTA included the Japan Society of the Northern Mariana Islands, Northern Marianas Diving Operators Association, Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the Marianas Visitors Authority. MVA also supported by providing water and arranging for trash pickup.
JSTA gave away Christmas gifts to the participating children. (MVA)
