Korean television program “Gourmet Road” will feature the 15th Annual Taste of the Marianas International Food Festival & Beer Garden in an upcoming episode, following its visit to Saipan last week.
The television show provides restaurant and food information, and also features culinary cultures of Korea and foreign countries. The 60-minute show will air on Y-Star TV and is expected to bring $107,000 in advertising exposure value to the Northern Mariana Islands.
“Gourmet Road” is hosted by three celebrities: comedian Jun Ha Jung, announcer Ji Yoon Park, and Chang Min Lee, the lead-vocal of popular K-Pop boy band “2AM”. Jung and Lee joined the Hotdog Eating Competition at last Saturday’s Taste of the Marianas, with Jung winning third place.
This May 11’s Taste of the Marianas will feature a Pie-eating Competition at 8pm on the rear stage, as well as entertainment by Okinawa Nenpo Group, Pua Hinano, Green Meadow School, Saipan Music & Dance, Marianas High Poksai INATUA, and New Band.
While on Saipan “Gourmet Road” also visited Tun Goru Snack Bar, Truong’s, J’s Restaurant, Naked Fish, Paju Gol, the Garapan Street Market, Kinpachi Restaurant, and other restaurants. They also went bottom-fishing, toured the northern Marpi area and Managaha, and sampled several barbecues. The group lodged at Hyatt Regency Saipan. (MVA)
