ShodaVision and the Saipan Visitors Channel unveiled two new tourism videos created expressly for the Marianas Visitors Authority and international release on Thursday evening Jan. 19 at the Club V in the Saipan Grand Hotel.
Over 30 people who worked on the videos were in attendance along with their partners and invited friends.
“The screening is in recognition of our appreciation for the contributions made by so many people in the creation of these beautiful videos.” said Dan Shor; screenwriter and director.
For those of you who have noticed the changes on the Visitors Channel of late, many of the videos including Island Baseball, Paul Jacoulet, Jake Shimabukuro, Tinian peppers, P.I.C., B-Sea parasailing, and the Chamorro Language videos were created by Dan Shor and his team at ShodaVision and Saipan A Go Go.
The team includes TVC producer Laurie Peterka, editor Niles Hogue, cameraman Xerxes Mangelero, production associate Eula Matsumoto, and video fx/graphics designer Jerry Talosig.
After having worked as instructor of Acting, Writing and Directing for Film at the Northern Marianas College, Dan Shor decided to remain on Saipan. He is a veteran of over 25 years as an actor, writer, and director of film, television and theater in Hollywood, California. He appeared in over 100 films, plays and television shows. Films include: Tron, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, and John Huston's Wise Blood. He was a series regular on televisions Cagney and Lacey, won a People's Choice Award as a supporting actor in The Blue and The Gray, and has over 30 Los Angeles theater awards as a director, writer and actor.
Dan has a assembled a team of writers to work on a screenplay featuring Saipan themes and has expanded ShodaVision to include all aspects of film and video production. (PR)
