The Department of Public Work’s Energy Division is sponsoring a an energy-saving workshop, “Helping the CNMI $ave Money by $aving Energy.” Given the new utility rates, the Energy Division wishes to help the general community become more informed on energy efficiency and conservation.
The featured speaker for the event is Mr. Darren T. Kimura; a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) out of Honolulu, Hawaii. Kimura will be presenting information on the EPA Energy Star Program. He will also be talking about energy efficient hotels, as well as how local residents and businesses can save money by saving energy.
Kimura enjoys a distinguished, award-winning career in energy entrepreneurship and his level of competence and ability to market energy efficiency and renewable energy are nationally recognized.
In addition, there will be an exhibit of practical solutions by different vendors displaying energy-efficient products and equipment. The proper use of such products will be demonstrated and sold on site.
The workshop will be on held today, Sept. 1, 2006 from 8am to 4:30pm at the Sandcastle, Hyatt Regency Hotel. Seating is limited.
