Roundtable for auto repair, health care workers

The Division of Environmental Quality, in partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency-Region IX and Tetra Tech, will host roundtable discussions with representatives from the auto repair and health care industries to explore opportunities for these sectors to cut costs and improve environmental performance.

Roundtable participants will learn about best management practices for their industries and receive guidance from DEQ and other experts. They will also be able to share their questions and concerns regarding environmental regulations and compliance.

Facilities that improve environmental performance often realize multiple benefits. These benefits include improved worker conditions, better regulatory compliance, and more positive relations with the neighboring community.

The roundtable for the auto repair industry is set for Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, from 9am until 12pm. The event is open to all owners, operation managers and mechanics.

The roundtable for the health care professionals will be held on Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, also from 9am until 12pm. Clinic managers, nursing staff, human resources, doctors and building engineers are encouraged to attend.

Both roundtable discussions will be at the Division of Environmental Quality conference room and require reservations. Interested individuals are to contact Tina Sablan at DEQ at 664-8500 or email her at tinasablan@gmail.com. (PR)
