The Saipan Southern High School Manta Ray Band needed just $7,000 more so it could make the trip to New York City in April. Out comes Bridge Capital, LLC to the rescue, with a generous $7,000 donation to the band to make its dream of performing at the world-famous Carnegie Hall come true.
Bridge Capital is a strong supporter of the arts and believes this trip will be a great way to continue the development of the island's art programs.
“This is a great opportunity for the members of the Manta Ray Band and an accomplishment that the entire Commonwealth should be proud of,” according to John Baldwin, principal and CEO of Bridge Capital. “Bridge Capital wishes the band the best of luck with their upcoming performances.”
The Manta Ray Band will travel to New York for the week of April 16 to 23 to perform at Carnegie Hall and the Central Park Band Shell. The delegation will consist of 40 band members along with 10 chaperones.
Saipan Southern High School's band director, Will DeWitt, said the $7,000 will be used to cover the cost of instrument transportation and insurance and will bring them to the fundraising finish line with time to spare.
