A couple of questions

This is in response to Kimberly King-Hind's letter to the editor (“Still outrageous,” Saipan Tribune, Sept. 13, 2012). We laud you for having the tenacity to voice your opinion toward the Tinian Delegation's inaction. But before we start pointing fingers and airing other's fault, we should look at the past within our local government in the Second Senatorial District.

If we can recall, your mother served on the first CNMI House of Representative from the Tinian Aguigan Municipality and what accomplishment did she do for the people of Tinian? Did she collect her salary and operational stipends at the CNMI Legislature while she was not doing anything for our residents? Did anyone of us complain about your mom's do-nothing approach while in public office? No, we did not say a word about her inactions, because we had the decency to respect her.

You mentioned that the Tinian Gaming Commissioners are collecting outrageous salaries and the Tinian Delegation is at fault for allocating the large sums that benefit the commissioners. You did not mention that your mom benefited from the do-nothing, highly compensated Tinian Gaming Commission in the past. Did we complain about your mom's salary as a gaming commissioner? Did we point fingers at the Tinian Delegation for your mom's highly compensated benefits during her tenure as a gaming commissioner? We had the decency to respect your mom's past inactions and we moved on with our lives. We have no political affiliation, but it is our duty to respond to your allegation toward our present Tinian Delegation's inactions. If we are not mistaken, you benefited from the present administration on Tinian and we wonder at times why you are so critical of the present Tinian Delegation.
