Wild Bill's swept the first round of the men's division of the 2012 SSS Summer Futsal League after edging Godfather's, 8-6, last Monday night at the TSL Sports Complex in Gualo Rai.
Jack Thoensaket, who had five goals in their 15-0 spanking of Go Green last week, picked up where he left off, firing four goals in their fourth win in as many games in the five-team league.
Thoensaket had a hat-trick in the first half, while Tanapon Unsa and Thanyakorn Konkoed added one goal each to give Wild Bill's a 5-3 halftime lead. Otsuka Masatoshi made twin goals, while Dale Roberts chipped in one to keep Godfather's afloat in the first half.
Masatoshi was not yet done and nailed three more goals, however he got none from his teammates, while three different players scored for Wild Bill's in the final half. Thoensaket got his fourth goal, while Adul Detolon and Lar Wonparya made it to the scoreboard, too.
With the win, Wild Bill's strengthened its hold to the top spot, two victories ahead of Godfather's (2-0-1 win/draw/loss). Shirley's (1-0-1), IT&E (0-0-2), and Go Green (0-0-3) complete the field.
In the women's division, Shirley's notched its third straight win after beating IT&E Awesome, 6-2.
Shirley's is now on top of the six-team field with its 3-0-1 record, while IT&E remained at fifth place with its 1-0-3 card.
Ira Palero and Irish Pagarao logged two goals apiece for Shirley's, while Yvonne Indalencio and Marie Javier chipped in one each. Laarni Zapanta and Jayda Mendoza scored one goal each for IT&E Awesome.
Meanwhile, action in the summer league will resume tomorrow with Astig facing Mean Machine in the boys U18 match at 6:30pm and IT&E Awesome battling Wild Bill's in the women's game at 7:30pm.
Astig holds an unbeaten 2-0-0 record in the boys U18 division, sharing the lead with IT&E, while Mean Machine is still winless in three games. Wild Bill's is in second place in the women's league with its 2-2-0 card.
