Godfather's was on target last Saturday, crushing Shirley's Coffee Shop, 17-4, in the lone men's game played in the 2012 SSS Summer Futsal League last Saturday night at the TSL Sports Complex in Gualo Rai.
The lopsided win improved Godfather's win-draw-loss record to 3-0-1, while Shirley's absorbed its second loss in three games.
Godfather's had the game in the bag as early as the first half when it went up, 10-0. Ropati Tonuu led Godfather's demolition of Shirley's scoring six goals. Dale Roberts added two, while David Duenas and Otsuka Masatoshi chipped in one apiece.
Shirley's broke its silence in the second half after drawing three goals from Kris Kim and one from Ariel Jinang, but still the four goals were no match to Godfather's seven more. Tonuu added three more, Otsuka had a pair, and Duenas also made twin goals.
Mellow Yellow 5, Shirley's 5
In the first women's match, Shirley's Coffee Shop forced a draw against Mellow Yellow after breaking into the scoreboard in the second half.
Mellow Yellow surprised the favored Shirley's in the first half, leading at 3-0. Melanie Santos, Bernadette Horey, Maile Aldrich, and Mary Kay Alforos drilled one goal apiece for Mellow Yellow to threaten Shirley's with an upset win.
However, Mellow Yellow failed to keep its momentum in the second half, as it notched only one goal to settle for the draw. Angie Ito and Maica Aniana saved Shirley's with their three and two goals, respectively.
Xerox 9, Baked Girls 4
In the second game, Xerox downed Baked Girls for its fourth win in six assignments.
Manami Takodoro had a hat-trick for Xerox in the first half to lift her team to a 3-1 lead. Anne Padilla nailed the lone goal for Baked Girls in the first 30 minutes of play.
In the second half, Baked Girls failed to neutralize Takodoro, who drained four more goals to go with Patricia Coleman and Marleu Cook's one each.
Melissa Borja, Amanda Allen, and Padilla also scored for Baked Girls in a losing effort in the second half.
