Originally scheduled for this weekend, next week's event features the men, women, and mixed 500-meter, and 1500-meter sprints, followed by long distance races.

Other paddling groups, such as the Saipan Outrigger Canoe Club, Marianas Paddlers Club, and Marianas Pacific Paddlers, will also join next week's races that will start at 8am.

Then the men's 10-kilometer and women's 8-km long distance events on Sept. 29 and 30 close out Team Hoe Lokahi's training schedule.

The Hoe Lokahi Club is a non-profit organization created in 2010 and it competed in the Micronesian Cup held in Guam last year. “Hoe Lokahi” is a Hawaiian term that translates into “paddle with harmony.”

This year's Micronesian Cup will be held on Saipan on Oct. 27 and 28.
