Players will be competing in the men's and women's Class A, B, and C singles and the men's and women's doubles in all three classifications. Kim Boranah and Joel Ortega ruled the mixed doubles C, Dick Guintu and Hannai Choi won the A division, Gary Bandoja and Choi topped the AB class, and Heo In Sook and Bandoja reigned in the B category.
This year's Shirley's tournament is sanctioned by Northern Marianas Badminton Association and is the latter's third event for the 2012 season. NMBA kicked off the year with the staging of the 2012 Tan Holdings Doubles Badminton Competition in February and the 2012 IT&E Singles & Mixed Doubles Badminton Tournament was held next in June.
