After coming up short on a sweep last season, Saipan Billiards Association's three-time defending Budweiser Open 8-Ball League champion IT&E Voyagers rose to the occasion this time around and finished on top after conclusion of last Tuesday's 15th Budweiser Cup postseason tournament.
The IT&E Voyagers triumphed in dominating fashion over the fifth-seeded Triggers, 9-1, in the SBA's Tuesday division finals held at Bammy's Restaurant & Bar.
Meanwhile, the Thursday division Bud Cup semifinals resulted in an upset by fourth-ranked Shark Attack which dethroned the 19th Hole Bar's top contender Titans I, 9-7, at home in Wild Bill's Bar & Grill.
Shark Attack will be paired against Jonny's Bar & Grill's fifth place Team SCS which bumped off 19th Hole's caboose team Eagles, 9-7, on the road.
The Thursday final will be played next on Nov. 29 at Jonny's.
In addition, SBA's awards banquet is scheduled for Dec. 2 in Charley's Cabaret at Pacific Island Club. Doors open at 10am.
