The Marianas Apnea Spearfishing Club’s 6th Annual Spearfishing Competition is set tomorrow, Nov. 24, from 6am to 4pm at Smiling Cove Marina.
Participants’ registration and final meeting is today, Nov. 23, 5pm at Smiling Cove Marina. Registration fee is $35 per person that includes T-shirt, food, and drinks.
The prizes include top-of-the-line spearfishing gear and accessories, trophies for first prize and the biggest catch and cash prize. MASC said they will be needing volunteer boaters to assists them on the event. Boaters will receive fuel certificates and half of the catch of the team.
The 6th Annual Spearfishing Competition is sponsored by MARPAC, Shell Marianas, Saipan Fishermen’s Association and its president Gene Weaver, Marianas Island Style, IT&E, Aquasmith, Ray Flores of FA’NU’I Guam, Fishing Tackle, John Gourley and Micronesian Environmental Services, Rep. Ray Tebuteb, senator-elect Ray Yumul, representative-elect Richard Seman, Ray Roberto and Department of Fish and Wildlife, DPS Boating Safety, Marianas Visitors Authority, and KKMP Radio Station.
