Saipan Little League Baseball has released the list of batting and pitching leaders in the Junior, Senior, and Big League after about a month of competition at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Ballfield.
In the Junior League, the Docomo Patriots' Christian Mizer led the batting race as of March 6 with his average of .875, built on a 7-for-8 at bat. Completing the Top 5 were Ol'Aces' A.J. Lizama (.786), Northern's Brandon Dela Cruz (.750), Ol'Aces' Shane Deleon Guerrero (.667), and Northern's Frank Norita (.667), Jeremy Atalig (.636).
Completing the list were the Northern's Roy Tudela (.556).Patriots' Kent Kalen (.556), Ol'Aces' Frankie Camacho (.545), Survivors' Jose Lizama Jr. (.500), Patriots' Jared Sablan (.500), Red Sox's Alex Monkeya (.500), Ol'Aces' Jeremy Lizama (.444), TSL A's David Ada (.444), and Survivors' Desmond Abraham.
TSL A's Jared Lizama occupied the No. 1 spot in the pitching race. He pitched five innings, allowed only two hits, and gave up one run in an error-free stint at the mound for a 0.00 ERA. In second place was Jose Lizama Jr. (0.58), followed by TSL A's Keene Guerrero (1.66), Pats' Jeremy Rabauliman (.233), Red Sox's Jonathan Cabrera (2.47), Ol'Aces A.J. Lizama (2.80), Fielders' James Aldan (3.71), Northern's Frankie Lieto (3.71), Pats' Jared Sablan (4.77), and Lions' Catalina Dela Cruz (5.00).
A.J. Lizama led the Junior League in strikeouts with 25 in 15 innings pitched.
Senior League
Four tied for the lead in pitching race with D-9ers' Zachary Aldan, Hunters' Joseph Palacios and Patrick Aguon, and Ol'Aces' Jake Santos posting identical 0.00 ERA. Completing the list were Fielders' Patrick Tenorio (1.31), Hustlers' McGarette Duenas (3.00), Lions' Dominic Chargualaf (3.00), Hustlers' Jeremy Lizama (3.23), Ol'Aces' Harry Nakamura (3.50), and Fielders' Nathan Guerrero (4.67), and Carlos Camacho (5.25).
Aldan was also on top of the batting race with his average of .667. Fielders' Peter Tenorio was in second place (.583), followed by Lions' Greg Iskawa (.571), Fielders' Marvin Ngeskebei (.538), Lions' Richard Dela Cruz (.500), Nakamura (.500), Ol'Aces' Lamarc Iguel (.444), Fielders' Patrick Tenorio (.444), Hunters' Joseph Palacios (.444), Duenas (.444), Lions' Leo Blas (.400) and Ricardo Dela Cruz (.333), and Hunters' Eloy Cruz (.250).
Big League
D-9ers secured the Top 2 spots in the batting race in the Big League.
Wally Emul went 5-for-8 at bat as of March 9 and averaged .625. Teammate Eric Tenorio was second with his.500 after going 4-for-8.
Rounding out the Top 10 were Fielders' Juan Maratita (.455) and Ben Flores (.455), Ol'Aces' Ryan Lisua (.429), Juan Iguel (.429), and Mike Iguel (.400), Fielders' Tom Agulto (.400), D-9ers' Chad Atalig (.375), D-9ers' Dave Camacho (.286), Ol'Aces' Eli Aughenbaugh (.286), D-9ers' Isaiah Lizama (.222), and Fielders' Wensner Namelo (.222).
In the pitching race, the Falcons' Joshua Jones, Fielders' Agulto, and D-9ers' Dave Hones are tied with 0.00 ERA. Fielders' Ionis Rasa finished second with his 1.00, followed by D-9ers' Clyde Sablan (1.40) and Ol'Aces' Jimmy Brel (3.00) and Augenbaugh (8.08).
