Filipino hairstylists will have the chance to improve their skills with the upcoming 1st Hairshow Saipan 2012.
The event is slated for Sunday, Oct. 28, from 8am to 4pm at the Aliviera Perfect Venue along Middle Road in Garapan and is organized by Sharmaine Casquero, Venus Grinio, and Mar Madreo.
Casquero said yesterday that the event will feature the latest trends and techniques from professional hairdressers and beauticians of Z.One Concept Educator, a company founded in 1999 by Ivano Panzeri and makes fine quality hair color, retexturizing and styling products.
Sunday's trainers are Mercy Tiong, Jenny Oh, and Michelle Seo, who all received their hairstyling training from New York, U.S.A. and Milan, Italy.
“This event is the first in the history of Saipan,” Casquero told Saipan Tribune.
According to Casquero, the event organizers were inspired to fly in these highly skilled hairstylists to Saipan to enhance the skills of beauticians on island, most of whom are Filipinos.
Casquero said the whole-day event, which took them two months to organize, would be timely since the visiting trainers recently completed another off-island training that they can share to local hairdressers.
She said attendees will learn about new haircut styles, proper mixing of hair color, and how to carry yourself as a hairstylist, among other things.
“We want our fellow hairstylists to improve their skills and, at the same time, help them become aware of the latest fashion and trends in the world of hairstyling around the world,” added Casquero.
The entire community, including non-stylists, are invited to attend the event entirely or only for half-day.
Tickets cost $100 per person for those who plan to attend the event from 8am to 4pm, while tickets for a half-day segment are at $50 each. These tickets are available at ASKS Salon, Serenity Salon & Spa, and Viralicci Beauty Salon & Hair Studio.
Casquero said a number of individuals have already bought tickets, including Chinese hairstylists on island.
Those who complete the training will be given a certificate that local hairstylists can use for their employment petitions.
