GUAM—United Airlines announced the appointment of Sam Shinohara as the new Managing Director of Business Development for Asia/Pacific.
Based on Guam, Sam will manage all commercial activities for Guam and Micronesia in addition to marketing activities for the Asia/Pacific region. He reports directly to James Mueller, United’s Vice President, Atlantic and Pacific Sales who is based in United’s headquarters in Chicago.
“This is an exciting time for the tourism industry, and I am very excited about taking on this new role. Guam is an important hub for United and we continue to look for opportunities to build business on Guam to support the island’s growth goals. Guam is home for me, so I am thrilled about looking for ways to further strengthen United’s commitment to the island and region,” says Shinohara.
Shinohara joined Continental Micronesia in May of 2000 and was most recently the Managing Director of Finance and Accounting for United’s Asia/Pacific operations. He was born and raised on Guam and holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with a major in accounting from the University of Hawaii. (United Airlines)
