Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy training on FDM, Warning Area 517
The Air Force and Marine Corps will conduct training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla on June 2-8 from 8am to 11:59pm. The Air Force, Marine Corps, and Navy will conduct training at Warning Area 517 on June 2-8 from 8am to 11:59pm. The public-especially fishermen, commercial pilots and marine tour operators-are advised to stay clear from the area during the times and dates indicated.
The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla training area will be on a 10 nautical mile radius on all quadrants.
W-517 is an irregular shaped polygon comprising 14,000 nautical square miles of airspace that begins south of Guam and extends south-southwest in international waters. This will affect fishing in the vicinity of Santa Rosa Reef and Galvez Bank. (PR)
Early dismissal at TES

Kagman High end of the school year schedule
Kagman High School will be dismissing students early from May 31 through June 11. KHS students will be dismissed at 1pm following lunch.
June 1: KHS students will be released at 1pm due to final exams.
June 5: Annual awards ceremony at 9am. On this day, the awards for the graduates will be announced, from the presidential awards to the scholarship recipients.
June 6: Dismissal for all students is at 1pm following lunch. Graduation ceremony starts at 3:30pm. All Kagman High School families are invited to witness the completion of this year’s senior class. Parking is limited so get there early! Tents will be set up for shade; however, it is recommended to bring drinking water to stay hydrated during the ceremony.
June 7: Kagman High Sports Appreciation Day.
June 8: Report cards will be sent home with students.
June 11: Official last day of the school year.
Red Cross trainings set
The American Red Cross-NMI Chapter will be conducting the following Health & Safety training at its training room located on Airport Road:
First Aid: Wednesday, June 6, and Thursday, June 21, 6pm-9pm
Adult CPR/AED: Tues., June 5, and Wed., June 20, 6pm-9pm
Pediatric CPR/AED: Sat., June 16, 8am-11am
Pre-registration is required at least 24-hours prior to training date. A $70 course-fee is required to participate in these trainings. Two-year certification cards are issued at end of training. Fee waivers for NMC Tinian Cash for College workshop participants
Individuals who participate in the Northern Marianas College’s upcoming “Cash for College” workshop on Tinian will qualify to receive fee waivers for the NMC admissions application fee and placement test fees which is a savings of $75.
The free workshop will be held on Friday, June 8, 2012, at the NMC Tinian Instructional Site in Room D. The workshop will be an ongoing session, so participants can stop by any time between 9am and 1pm.
The aim of this workshop is to assist students and their parents in maximizing scholarship opportunities that are available to students seeking to obtain a college education.
Participants will also be provided with personal, step-by-step assistance in completing college financial aid forms, focusing especially on forms for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, the Tinian Municipal Scholarship, the CNMI Scholarship, and more.
It is recommended that workshop participants bring a valid form of identification (e.g., a valid U.S. passport, copy of valid application for a U.S. passport, birth certificate, or green card), an official transcript from their high school, tax forms, and proof of CNMI residency for 2010 and 2011, including proof of continuing residency.
