TAMUNING, Guam-The 2012 First Hawaiian Bank Guam Business Magazine Businesswoman of the Year Maga’haga award recipient will be announced Saturday, April 28, at the 7th Annual Businesswoman of the Year Award Gala in the Orchid Room at the Aurora Resort & Spa.
The award program brings recognition to businesswomen who have made significant contributions to their industries and have demonstrated a strong commitment to their community.
The 2012 nominees are: Katie F. Black, Sales Account Manager, United; Laila Y. Boyer, President, Marianas Variety News and Views; Shelly V. Calvo, Owner, Oxygene and Diva's Café; Jaylene Kent, President, Isla Paint and Roofing Supply; Françoise Martin, Chiropractor, Walking Tall Clinic; Layla Raymanova, Realtor, Century 21 Commonwealth Realty; Annette T. Santos, Associate Professor, School of Business and Public Administration, University of Guam and owner of ATS Resources; Frances C. Schier, General Manager, Travel Pacificana; Mary P. Torre, President, Guam Hotel & Restaurant Association and President MARQ Consulting Services; and Andrea S. Whitt, Executive Director, Customer Service, IT&E.
The winner will be announced at approximately 9:30pm at the gala. The media is cordially invited to the award presentation for photos and interview opportunities. The Guam Business Magazine May-June issue, featuring a commissioned photo study of the winner on its cover, will be released in conjunction with the announcement of the winner's name.
Proceeds from the gala will fund scholarships at the University of Guam, Guam Community College and Northern Marianas College.
