Making paksiu and bayogu dolls at Tinian Cultural Center

The Tinian Chamorro-Carolinian Cultural Center is offering free lessons to Chamorros and Carolinians on making paksiu and bayogu dolls this Saturday at the Tinian Senior Citizen Center Pavilion. The lessons will start at 9am. Bring your children so they, too, can learn the traditional ways of the Chamorros and Carolinians.

These activities are sponsored by the Association of Native Medicine and Culture, in partnership with the Tinian Community and Cultural Affairs Office, Tinian Mayor's Office, and the Indigenous Affairs Office (Saipan), and funded in part by the Administration for Native Americans. US Army Reserve center to close road


The U.S. Army Reserve Center will be conducting an exercise today, July 20, 2012. The road on the west of the U.S. Army Reserve Center will be closed and only authorized personnel with valid military identification cards will be allowed to enter the facility. (PR)

Free Army Reserve Enrichment Camp


The Army Reserve's Child, Youth and School Services will host a free Youth Enrichment Camp on July 23-27, 2012, at Marianas Trekking for children ages 4 to 12. Free films every Friday at the Park


The American Memorial Park presents family-friendly films twice a day for free every Friday, at 2pm and 6pm, in the Visitors Center auditorium.

* July 20: Wall-E (2pm and 6pm)
* July 27: Meet The Robinsons (2pm and 6pm)
* Aug. 3: Ice Age (2pm)
* Aug. 10: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2pm and 6pm)
* Aug. 17: Rio (2pm and 6pm)

The regularly scheduled First Friday Films at 6:30pm will continue. (AMP)
