Godfather's notched its sixth win in seven games after whipping Go Green Team, 11-5, in the men's division of the 2012 Saipan Soccer School Summer Futsal League last Wednesday night at the TSL Sports Complex in Gualo Rai.
Chris Nelson and Ropati Tonuu were unstoppable for Godfather's, scoring five and four goals, respectively. Dale Roberts and Otsuka Masatoshi drained the two other goals for Godfather's, which now has a 6-0-1 win-draw-loss record to keep pace with the unbeaten Wild Bill's (5-0-0).
Though Godfather's is behind the perfect Wild Bill's, the former enjoys the lead in the goals scored so far with its 86 against the latter's 59.
Go Green upped its goals total in seven games to 16, but it remained at the bottom of the team standings with its 1-0-6 slate. Go Green drew three goals from Don Cabrera, two from Timothy Tawanpiy, and one from Angelo Guevarra.
WOMEN'S
IT&E Awesome 3, Mellow Yellow 2
IT&E won the battle of the bottom two squads in the six-team women's league.
The diminutive Negahr Rastguiy converted a pair of goals in the first half to give IT&E Awesome a 2-0 cushion at the break, while Jayda Mendoza made the lone goal in the second half.
Mellow Yellow got its two goals in the second half from Britanny Wally and Mary Kay Alforos, but it remained winless in eigth games and so far has scored only 12 goals.
IT&E Awesome improved to a 2-1-5 record and has overtaken Mellow Yellow in the race for most goals scored with the former's 13.
BOYS U14
IT&E 6, Astig Futsal 4
IT&E continued its streak against the IP&E-sponsored Astig Futsal.
IT&E and Astig drew their first two games before the former won the next three, including last Wednesday's match.
John Taisacan led IT&E's victory, firing four goals, while Dakota Hall added two. Jeff Palacios scored all the four goals for Astig Futsal.
IT&E now has a 3-0-2 card and 25 goals, while Astig fell to a 0-2-5 card and has made 13 goals so far.
BOYS U18
Astig Futsal 11, IT&E 3
Astig Futsal foiled an IT&E sweep after winning their U18 showdown.
After taking a 4-1 halftime lead, Astig Futsal turned on the heat in the second half, sizzling for seven goals. Six different players scored for Astig Futsal in the final 25 minutes of play with Billy Hinson tallying two and Jeff Palacios, Jack Unsa, Konkoed, Marc Mora, and Woo Seok Choi adding one each. Konkoed also nailed two in the first half, helping Astig Futsal keep its spotless record (5-0-0)
Scott Kim, Enrico Del Rosaio, and Frank Jeon made it to the scoreboard for IT&E, which dropped to a 3-0-2 slate.
