The Friends of the Arts announces auditions for Deathtrap
The Friends of the Arts is pleased to announce its next theatrical presentation, the Broadway success Deathtrap, scheduled for Oct. 12, 13, and 14. Written by Ira Levin, Deathtrap holds the record as the longest running comedy-thriller on Broadway. The FOA production of this two-act play will be directed by Harold Easton.
Auditions for the play will be held at the Dolphin Theater at Marianas High School on Sunday, Aug. 19, from 1pm to 5 pm. The play has five adult parts, three men and two women, of varying ages. Department of Revenue and Taxation wishes to inform all CNMI residents that its office will be open on Aug. 31,2012. The division would like to remind the general public that July 2012 Business Gross Revenue Tax return file is due on Aug. 31. (PR)
5 beach sites red-flagged
The Division of Environment Quality has red-flagged Tanapag Meeting Hall, Central Repair Shop, S.Puerto Rico Dump, Hafa Adai Drainage, and Garapan Fishing Dock and is advising the public not to fish or swim within 300 feet of these locations for the next 48 hours or until otherwise notified.
DEQ said that samples collected from these locations had excessive concentrations of fecal indicator bacteria (enterococci) that exceeded the CNMI Marine Water Quality Standards. These bacteria can indicate the presence of human and animal waste in the water. Water samples were taken from 38 locations on Saipan this week. For more information, contact DEQ at 664-8500. (DEQ)
