The Emon Lodge 179 Basketball League will open shop tomorrow at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
The opening ceremony starts at 1pm with all nine teams required to be present for the traditional parade of squads and for draws that will determine the pairings in the opener. League organizers are planning to hold four games this Sunday and will strictly implement a “no pay, no play rule.”
Teams that fail to make partial payments at the opening day must turn over their full entrance fee ($400) on their second game.
Joining this year's Emon Lodge caging are the Sonics, Archers, Servitek Auto Paint Shop, Fong's Bakery, Armatech, Hoopaholics, Mobil, Ashleys, and Pacific Islands Club.
Matches will be played three times a week or every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at the Ada gym. Two games are set for weekdays with the opening game scheduled for 6:30pm and the last at 8pm. Three matches will take place every Saturday and game times will be at 4pm, 5:30pm, and 7pm.
