About 70 took part in this year's edition of the annual Aqua Walk on Saturday that was organized by the Marianas Walking Association and IT&E.
Some walkers showed up as early as 6am or before the 6:30am registration, prompting them to start the event early, said MWA board member Hiroko Tajima.
Aqua Walk participants strolled from the Aquarius Beach Tower beachfront passing through the Sugar Dock then to the beach by the Chalan Kanoa Beach Club.
“The water was rough but the weather was very nice,” Tajima told Saipan Tribune, adding that most of the participants walked along the beach side instead of in the water.
Saturday's participants also received special Aqua Walk shirts.
Aqua Walk is one of the six walks organized annually by MWA. Tajima said the next walking event is the Turkey Walk, scheduled on Nov. 24, a Saturday.
Other walking events are the Valentine Walk in February, Sophia Walk in May, Foundation Walk in August, and the Christmas Walk in December.
