The Marianas Tourism Education Council invites all interested individuals to its annual general membership meeting on Sept. 20, 2012, at 3:30pm at the Marianas Visitors Authority office on Beach Road, Oleai. Election of officers will also take place.
MTEC is gearing up for its next round of educational presentations at Northern Marianas public and private schools this school year, as well as the next MTEC Tourism Summit for MY WAVE (Welcome All Visitors Enthusiastically) Clubs.
“We're very excited about the positive response we're receiving from students-and the community at large-about becoming more informed and most importantly, becoming more involved, with our islands' tourism industry,” said MTEC president Vicky Benavente. “We welcome private businesses, government offices, and members of the community to attend Thursday's meeting and support MTEC's initiatives.”
The council is a non-profit organization aimed at educating the public on the importance of the tourism industry. To ensure adequate seating, attendees are asked to RSVP by Sept. 19, 2012, by contacting MVA community projects manager Martin Duenas at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1.670.664.3210. (MVA)
