The truth will prevail and sometimes the truth hurts but you can’t always turn a blind eye, can you? Or do you just have to? I certainly understand not to bite the hand that feeds me but lately that hand has been shoving rotten and spoiled stuff down my throat that I cannot take it anymore. Then I am told I must cooperate and allow him to continue? That stopping him now would not solve any problem. I am choking and I disagree completely.
I know, and so does everyone, that we cannot fix our problems overnight. Even the governor took seven years to ruin it! In the first place he created the Covenant Party then ditched them when he did not need them anymore. He did all this for his benefit because he was never given the chance by the people back then. Thanks to his deceitful ways and the selection of a running mate with the perfect last name, he won the election.
Too bad, though, that after fooling us once he found another perfect running mate that allowed him to fool us twice! Unfortunately, Mr. Governor, you cannot and we will not allow you to fool us a third time. You might have fooled or forced yourself upon the Republican Party as their leader to align yourself with the majority and use them again to your advantage but you cannot fool the people this time. The whole Commonwealth knows what and who you are-a user and abuser of the majority to benefit the few close to you.
Unfortunately, people are not as ignorant as you think they are but they just keep giving you the benefit of the doubt and a chance to prove yourself over and over again because "hope" is all we have. What is overwhelming is your misconstrued idea that you have supporters. They are there because it is a Republican rally. They are obligated to be there and they must support, whether they like it or not. The question is...is it worth it? So with this letter, I want to make my prediction of what will occur in the days to come. I sure hope I am wrong because I am no fortuneteller but at the pace and route we are headed-because of our leaders-best wishes and luck to everyone.
Presently, my disappointment lies with the House leadership. They are so easily manipulated and controlled by this governor that they no longer have a mind of their own. They cannot even speak their minds! The only thing they can express is “no comment.” They might as well call the speaker the Listener of the House and change the House "leadership" to "followers" instead. They are not our representatives. The purpose of having three branches in government is defeated since at this moment they fall under the Supreme Legislative Executive Administration under the dictatorship and rule of the governor. This ruler will not allow participation in any joint or committee meetings because this will be how the governor punishes us, by using them to accomplish a government shutdown. In other words, temporary terminations but they probably don’t count pennies like I do, so what is a few weeks without pay for them?
So we do not have a retirement plan that is superb and beneficial anymore. Do you think the governor really cares? Does the governor need a retirement plan? He is set in life, mansions everywhere, bank accounts overflowing. Who do you have at your side? A future monthly Social Security pension? Well, that is about four times less and available at the earliest at age 62 with reductions. I think we were screwed but too bad we allowed it and continue to allow it, it's quite sad. I guess he does get the last laugh and he is probably laughing right now, thanks to the do-nothing mentality. A beneficial retirement plan is gone, a 25-year liability incurred where CUC might lose its assets and us the CNMI because Saipan Development is waiting to collect. We have been sold and it was not even to the highest bidder, just another of Fitial’s friends.
In closing, I just want to express a big congratulations to those who participated at the roadside waving in support of impeachment. Well done! The silent majority supports you and we admire your bravery and courage for standing up to the opposition. In numbers they may be the 99 percent but that is just the perspiration part. You, on the other hand, have all the inspiration for the betterment of our people and a greater CNMI. I speak of perspiration and mean it literally because I can imagine them sweating while they were being scrutinized under the microscope. All that sweat and the overly stressful nice face they must maintain just so they may be allowed to run under the Republican banner and contribute to his legacy. How sad. The only move that is full of politics, plus some, is the governor's. Then they have the audacity to say “United We Stand” and that “Impeachment is not the solution.” Weren't they all sitting in that picture? He talks the talk but cannot walk the walk. He cannot even remain standing. Live up to your motto, you've already abandoned Better Times and Let it BE. I hope you're not adopting United We Stand while sitting and doing nothing.
