Attempted robbery at barbershop

Crime Stoppers is seeking the community's assistance for information on an attempted robbery that occurred at Lilly's Beauty and Barber Shop in Chalan Kanoa.

On Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at about 9:45pm, police responded and learned that the victim, a 41-year-old Asian female, was about to close the beauty shop when the suspect, who was riding a bicycle, stopped and entered the establishment.

The suspect-described as a dark-skinned islander male, about 5'7” tall, 180 lbs, wearing a grey tank top with the words “Palau” printed on it-grabbed the victim's red purse from a table and attempted to flee. The victim chased the suspect, grabbing her purse and screaming for help.

During the struggle the suspect let go of the purse and the victim managed to pull the suspect's shirt off. The suspect fled on the bicycle, leaving one slipper and his shirt as evidence. The victim was not injured and nothing was stolen.
