Tan Holdings hands Paire first loss

Monroyo) Tanapon Unsa scored a hat-trick to lift Tan Holdings to a 3-1 win over erstwhile leader Paire in the boys U18 division game in the 2012 NMIFA Youth Fall League last Saturday at the Hopwood Junior High School Field.

Unsa put Tan Holdings in the board early with his goal in the 4th minute and then 10 minutes before the first half ended, he got his second goal to stretch the team's lead. The Tan Holdings striker made it three in a row when he found the back of the net anew in the 60th minute.

Paire then avoided a shutout loss when Zhi Peng Lin scored five minutes before the final buzzer sounded.

With the victory, Tan Holdings now has a 2-1-0 win-draw-loss record and grabbed the top spot from Paire (2-0-1).

MP United-2 11, Matansa 1

MP United-2 won the other U18 match, as it clobbered Matansa FC.

The game was over right in the first half, as MP United-2 (1-1-0) piled up seven goals. Dakota Hall made three of them, Jehn Joyner had a pair and Daniel Lim and Brian Lee had one each. Joyner then got his third goal in the 53rd minute, while Hall and Lee also added one apiece in the second half. Clyde Ebilane scored the last goal for MP United-2.

Sean Perez was the lone Matansa (0-0-2) player to light up the scoreboard, nailing a goal in the 49th minute.

BOYS U15

Shirley's FC 2, Matansa 2


The lone boys U15 division game played last Friday at the Oleai Sports Complex Field resulted in a draw.

Ryu Tanzawa broke the ice for Matansa (1-1-0) with his goal in the 7th minute, however Shirley's Edward Cordero equalized the game three minutes later. Shirley's (0-1-2) then took the lead off Edwin Kim's goal in the 24th minute, but the first half ended in a deadlock after Sean Perez also made it to the scoreboard in 36th minute.

The game remained tied in the second half, as both teams hung tough on defense.

The other tiff in the boys U15 division featuring Paire and Tan Holdings was rescheduled.

GIRLS U15

Paire 1, Tan Holdings 0


Paire broke into the win column after dropping its first two games, following a shutout victory over Tan Holdings at the Hopwood pitch.

Mikaela Duenas scored the winning goal for Paire in the second half and moved up her team from the last place to the No. 4 spot in the five-team field. Tan Holdings is still at the bottom of the team standings with its 0-0-2 slate.

Matansa 2, Shirley's 1

Matansa is at the top of the field, as it defeated Shirley's in the second game.

Matansa now has a 2-0-0 card against Shirley's (1-1-1). MP United (1-1-0) drew a bye in Week 3 of the league.

Shirley's boosted its chances for its second win when Marielle Gariguez connected on a goal in the second half. However, Matansa recovered in the second half after getting one goal from Almina Deleon Guerrero and another one off Shirley's error.
