The 5th Annual Saipan Chamber of Commerce (SCC) Golf Tournament will be held on Oct. 27 at the Coral Ocean Point Resort Golf Course.
The Saturday single round, two-man scramble format tournament will begin at 7am, with players requested to register beginning at 6am. Player registration and entry fees are at the special price of $99.95. The $99.95 includes greens fees and the awards banquet. Banquet guests are welcome for $30.
“The Chamber of Commerce asks its members to support other Chamber companies. COP is a member of the chamber, so we support COP, and we're going to hold our tournament there for the 2nd year in a row. We expect a larger turnout this year, as we intend to set a record for players walking away with prizes,” chamber president Douglas Brennan said during SCC's October general membership meeting.
The 2-man team prizes include three separate categories: men's low gross, men's low net (double peoria) and women's low net (double peoria). First placer in each category gets $600, second place wins $300 and third place takes $200.
Hole-in-one prizes include $10,000 (from Takagi & Associates and AON Insurance) on the 161-yard hole No. 3, $25,000 (Bank of Hawaii) on the 194-yard hole No. 12, and a 2013 Hyundai Elantra (Triple J Motors) on the 165-yard hole No. 13. Closest to the pin winner on the 130-yard hole No. 7 will get a round trip ticket to Japan (Delta Air Lines) and a special prize donated by DataDot.
To date, the following companies have signed up to sponsor holes; ASC Trust, DataDot, Delta Air Lines, DFS Galleria, Saipan Shipping Company, TakeCare Insurance, United Air Lines, Xerox Corporation, MCV, Pacific Islands Club, and Tan Holdings.
Entry forms are available at the Saipan Chamber of Commerce office in the Family Building in Garapan, and at COP. (PR)
