Registration is still open for the Huggies Baby Pageant, one of the highlights for the “2012 Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Fair, and Daddies Too!” event that will be hosted by Marianas Pacific Distributors, Inc. on Oct. 20.
Marpac's Vinycia Seman said Thursday that many community members have already picked up application forms for the “very cute and fun event” but have yet to turn them in.
The Huggies Baby Pageant is open to all children who are still using diapers on a daily basis and can come up with a customized outfit or costume using Huggies brand diapers.
Participants wearing another diaper brand will be automatically disqualified from the competition.
All contestants will be judged based on originality, use of product, and style, and the winners will have a chance to take home great Huggies prizes, said Seman.
The pageant is part of the upcoming fair to be held from 10am to 4pm at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe.
Seman said eight vendors have already confirmed their participation in the event that aims to broaden health awareness and promote well-being within families.
They are the CNMI Council on Developmental Disabilities/Assistive Technology Program & Trankilu Loan Program; Early Hearing Detection & Intervention Program; Green Meadow School and Daycare; SAEF dba Kids Cove Learning Center; H.O.M.E. Visiting Program; Children's Developmental Assistance Center Early Intervention; Public Safety Highway Safety Office; and Hardt Eye Clinic.
Seman said that Hardt Eye Clinic will provide free vision and blood sugar screenings at the event while DPS will give away bibs, pencil and crayon case sets. There will also be live entertainment.
