The Lions Club District 204 Region 2 will have an induction ceremony for its new cabinet officers and committee chairs tonight at the Hafadai Beach Hotel Fiesta Hall.
Assistant public relations officer Annamae Adaza said the event will feature District Governor Lion Herbie Perez, Past District Governor Lion Goring Duenas, and PDG Lion Romeo Angel of Guam.
CNMI Delegate Gregorio Kilili Sablan, who co-sponsored H.R. 2139 or the Lions Century of Service Commemorative Coin Bill, will serve as guest speaker.
The bill, which is now with President Barack Obama for signature, would require the Secretary of the Treasury to mint and issue not more than 400,000 $1 coins in commemoration of the centennial of the Lions Clubs International.
There are three Lions Clubs on Saipan: the Saipan Fil-Am Lions Club, Saipan Unity Lions Club, and Saipan Marianas Lions Club.
On Sunday, a leadership training for Lions Clubs officers will be conducted at the Dulili Restaurant in Garapan.
“We encourage those who are interested to join the Lions Club,” said Adaza.
