Bank of Hawaii awards grants to five Saipan small businesses

Bank of Hawaii congratulates three of the five grant recipients. (BANK OF HAWAII) Bank of Hawaii named ALAI Preschool & Tutorial, Inc., Gospel Light Daycare, Jess Multi-Farms, Marianas Made, and Matsumoto Farms as recipients of the I Kinometi Para I Kumunidåt I Islå-ta Small Business Revitalization and Development Grants. Each awardee received $5,000.

Bank of Hawaii established the grant program to help promote new Saipan businesses and to encourage existing small businesses to expand.

-ALAI Preschool & Tutorial, Inc. will purchase curriculum, assessment and professional development materials plus indoor jungle gym equipment to help it cater to a broader range of clientele.

-Gospel Light Daycare will expand its space and improve the playground so that it can increase enrollment.

-Jess Multi-Farms will purchase materials to expand through development of an aquaculture operation.

-Marianas Made will hire two part-time employees and invest in display fixtures and a commerce website to better market the work of local artists.

-Matsumoto Farms will purchase and install new tanks to allow it to expand its tilapia production to meet growing demand.

Bank of Hawaii is committed to encouraging economic development to help its communities grow and thrive. In addition to this grant program, Bank of Hawaii continues to support the Saipan community through grants made by Bank of Hawaii Foundation and through the work of its employees who provide financial education and serve on the boards of local non-profits.
