Russian charter flights to NMI to begin Oct. 26

Dignitaries of AviaCharter DV and the Marianas Visitors Authority preside during ceremonies at a launch event held on Sept. 14, 2012, in Vladivostok to promote direct charter flights to Saipan. The flights will begin this week. ( MVA) Scheduled charter flights from Vladivostok to Saipan commence this week, generating anticipation in the Northern Marianas visitor industry sparked by last month's launch event in Russia that attracted 100 travel agent and media reps.

The flights are now scheduled to run from Oct. 26, 2012, through March 2013. However, if demand is strong, they may continue beyond that.

With the theme “Let's Go To the CNMI,” the launch event hosted on Sept. 14, 2012, by AviaCharter DV aimed to generate interest in the destination and spur sales of the biweekly flights. Aviacharter DV will fly Airbus - A320 aircraft with 150-passenger seating.

“Saipan, Tinian, and Rota are not only a sport and leisure destination, but a safe and comfortable place for everyone in the family to enjoy,” said Marianas Visitors Authority managing director Perry Tenorio while welcoming the travel trade representatives at the launch event. “Clean water and air and a fun, safe, tropical paradise is what your customers will find in the Northern Marianas Islands.”

The packages for the charter flights will be family oriented. Families with two or more children under the age of 12 will be given one free ticket for one child. Packages that include the neighboring islands of Tinian and Rota will be also offered to travelers.

“We thank Aviacharter DV for organizing these direct charter flights from Vladivostok to Saipan,” said Tenorio. “We appreciate your support in promoting our islands and these charter flights to the citizens of the Primorski region.” (MVA)
