CW-1 updates at SHRM luncheon
The CNMI Chapter of the Society of Human Resources Management will have as guest Stephen P. Green, USCIS Field Office director for Guam/CNMI, during its monthly meeting on Thursday, Oct. 25, 11:30am to 2pm at Charley's Cabaret of the Pacific Islands Club Saipan.
Green would provide updates on employment under the CW-1 status. Specifically, he will discuss CW-1 renewals and requirements on the part of the sponsors (employers) and beneficiaries (workers).

Air Force, Marine Corps training on FDM
The U.S. Marine Corps and Air Force are training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla today, Oct. 24, from 4:30pm to 11pm. The general public-especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and marine tour operators-are advised to stay clear from the area during the times and dates indicated. The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla training area will be on a 10-nautical mile radius on all quadrants. (PR)

Today's edition of John Gonzales LIVE will feature the topic “Breast Health.Hinemlu' Famalao'an,” with guests Dr. Daniel Lamar, Family Medicine; Dr. Gary Ramsey, OB-gynecologist; and Trina Sablan, DPH Non-Communicable Disease Bureau. Free workshop on parole-in-place applications
Micronesian Legal Service Corp.'s Marianas office will be hosting two workshops to help people prepare extensions for parole-in-place applications. The first workshop is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 28, at 1pm and the second one will be at 3pm on the same day.
It is only for those that have already been granted humanitarian parole and need to extend. Although MLSC will conduct the workshop to help people understand the process, no individual legal advice will be given. Each workshop will be conducted in English, each workshop is limited by the capacity of the auditorium at the American Memorial Park. Marriage Encounter's Weekend Renewal on Thursday
The CNMI Chapter of the Worldwide Marriage Encounter graduated 17 new couples from the Fall Weekend, which took place on Oct. 19-21, 2012. The presenting team consisted of Fr. Isaac Ayuyu, Tom and Erica Thornburgh, Charlie and Esther Keone (Guam) and Ray and Fina Fernandez (Guam). All Encountered couples are being invited to join the M.E. community at the Weekend Renewal on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, 6pm at the Kanoa Resort, Century Tours' conference room.
