NMA cross country series starts this Saturday

The 2012 NMA All Schools Cross Country Series will kick off this Saturday at the CPA Field.

Registration starts at 3pm, while races begin at 4pm with runners competing in three divisions and five age groups.

The elementary division will have separate races in the U8, U10, and U10 age groups and runners will race in the shorter course around the old football field. A race briefing will be held before the event kicks off and markers will be placed along the course to guide runners. In the junior high school (for U14) and high school (U18) divisions, participants will race in the longer course.

After the Saturday races, the organizing Northern Marianas Athletics will have two more preliminary competitions before holding the All Schools championships. The second cross country series will take place at the Civic Center in Susupe on Nov. 10 at 4pm, while the American Memorial Park will host the third series on Nov. 24 at 6:30am. The championship will also be held around the AMP on Dec. 1 with races beginning at 6:30am.
