Paire Football Club snapped its losing skid in the M-League after dominating Korean Football Association on Saipan in the second game in Division 1, 5-1, last Sunday at the Oleai Sports Complex Field.
Team captain Steve McKagan scored twin goals to lead Paire's first win this season. Paire also drew one goal each from Daniel Agulto, Trey Dunn, and Juanito Tiamzon to avenge their 0-4 defeat at the hands of KFAS during the M-League opening day last month. Paire's other loss came from Inter Godfather's.
McKagan got Paire's offense going, as he scored right into the third minute of the first half. KFAS also lit up the scoreboard early off Brian Lee's goal in the eighth minute before it went cold for the majority of the match.
After KFAS (1-1-1) equalized, Agulto brought Paire back into the driver's seat at the 24th minute and McKagan made it a 3-1 advantage when he got his second goal in the 32nd. Dunn stretched the lead to four with his goal in the 55th, while Tiamzon came off the bench midway in the second half and gave Paire its fifth goal in the 62nd.
Tan Holdings 2, Inter Godfather's 1
In the other Division 1 match, Tan Holdings FC reasserted its mastery over Inter Godfather's after pulling off a close win.
Tan Holdings, which edged Inter in the opener, 2-0, earned its second straight win over the latter after getting a pair of goals from Wai Wo Lee. Lee's first goal gave Tan Holdings a 1-0 halftime lead before Masatoshi Otsuka evened up the match midway in the second half. Lee then eluded his defenders anew in the closing minutes of the final frame to hit the go-ahead goal.
Tan Holdings improved to a 2-1-1 slate to take the temporary lead in Division 1, one win ahead of undefeated Wild Bill's (1-1-0). Inter fell to fourth place with its 1-1-2 card.
DIVISION 2
Shirley's 4, Kanoa 2
Shirley's FC and Kanoa Resort played in the last game of the weekend with the former making it to the win column after four futile attempts.
Resty Vergara broke the ice for Shirley's with his goal in the ninth minute, however Kanoa (0-0-4) managed to force a deadlock at halftime after getting a goal from Makani Gramlich in the 39th minute.
Gramlich also scored Kanoa's second goal to put his team in the lead in the 61st minute. However, Kanoa's stay on the driver's seat was only short-lived, as Jerry Tan made the equalizer seven minutes later and Shirley's went on to connect back-to-back goals in a span of five minutes. Fredil Sedillo scored in the 84th minute to reclaim the lead, while Kris Kim ensured the win one minute before the final buzzer sounded.
MP United 12, Shirley's 1
Before Shirley's entered the win column, it first suffered a bad beating from MP United last Wednesday.
Joe Miller delivered the killer blows for MP United, drilling six goals. Chris Camacho added two goals, while Enrico Del Rosario, Feng Chun Jin, Zheng Xu, and Jason Warren contributed one each.
Jin started MP United's spree with a goal in the 11th minute before Miller bombarded Shirley's with three straight goals for a commanding 4-0 advantage at the break. MP United was not done yet, as three other players also hit the board to complement another hat-trick from Miller in the second half.
Allen Mijares nailed the lone goal for Shirley's.
