More than 100 students from the Public School System will compete in the 2012 Pacific Islands Club Dodgeball Tournament that will start today and run until tomorrow.
“This year, we decided to change the tournament format so that students from the elementary school level will have a chance to participate in a fun competition and help out their school at the same time,” PIC operations and events manager Dennis Tababa said. “We looked at ways where we could involve the students in a fundraiser for P.E. equipment for their school.”
Sponsorship from Pacific Trading Co., Gatorade, and PIC Saipan will provide funds for purchasing exercise equipment, such as basketballs, volleyballs, and other workout gear.
William S. Reyes Elementary School, Oleai Elementary School, San Antonio Elementary School, Garapan Elementary School, and Kagman Elementary School will join the weekend tournament. Games today start at 4:30pm, while Saturday matches will begin at 1pm. Students are encouraged to come to PIC's tennis court in San Antonio to cheer for their schools. (PIC)
