The Division of Environmental Quality will be conducting a workshop on Saipan and Rota on how to recognize misbranded pesticide and pesticide devices.
The primary targets for this workshop are employees of CNMI Customs, CNMI Quarantine, and the Bureau of Environmental Health. These agencies are crucial to the enforcement of pesticide regulations. Thus it is critical that DEQ provide education to Customs, Quarantine and BEH to order to prevent the entry of illegal in our islands and help in achieving compliance.
On Saipan, the workshop will be held on Dec. 11 and 12, from 8:30am to 11:30am and 1:30pm to 4:30pm. On Rota, it will be held on Dec 13 from 8:30am to 11:30am.
Workshop agenda includes but is not limited to: overview of regulations (importation, authority & scope, detainment); understanding labels & recognizing signs for illegal pesticides & devices; and the screening process.
