Police authorities arrested a 47-year-old man on Thursday on suspicion of molesting two infants in Kagman.
Steve Sahagun was charged with sexual assault in the second degree, sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree, sexual abuse of a child, child abuse or neglect, and indecent exposure in the first degree.
Police received a call on the night of Dec. 5 about a sexual abuse incident involving minors. Police officers were deployed to Kagman III, Banalu Loop to investigate.
According to the investigation conducted by police detective Nicholas C. Leon Guerrero, the suspect molested two female babies aged 1 month old and 4 months old, respectively, on Dec. 4 and 5. The suspect was allegedly drunk during both incidents.
Sahagun, according to the babies' relatives who witnessed the incident, touched the private parts of the two infants, who were then heard crying. Both infants were then taken to the hospital after the incident, in time for the arrest of the suspect who was transported to the Department of Corrections.
Superior Court judge Perry Inos set Sahagun's bail at $75,900 on Monday and set his arraignment on Jan. 8, 2013 at 9am. The judge appointed the Public Defender's Office to represent the suspect.
Preliminary hearing is on Dec. 17 at 9am.
