The Marianas Interscholastic Sports Organization's second sports lineup of the school year kicks off this Tuesday at the Marianas High School Gymnasium with girls volleyball followed by the opening of the boys basketball season the following day.
Saipan International School's White and Green Lady Geckos will be going head-to-head on the north court with the Grace Christian Academy Lady Eagles challenging Marinas Baptist Academy on the south end in the 4pm curtain raiser.
Then at 5pm the Kagman High School Lady Ayuyus meet with the MHS Yellow Dolphins, while the Mount Carmel School Lady Knights collide with the Saipan Southern High Lady Manta Rays.
The third and final round of matches features the MHS Yellow Dolphins pulling double duty against its Blue Dolphins counterparts with SIS-Green and SSHS sticking around for an extra go as well.
The girls volleyball regular season runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays through Valentine's Day, Feb. 14.
On Wednesday, SIS and KHS will open the junior varsity hoops season at 5:30pm followed by the first varsity tiff featuring the KHS Ayuyus taking on the MCS Knights at 6:45pm; games will primarily take place from thereon on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays through mid-February.
In addition, girls soccer is set to start the following week on Tuesday, Jan. 15. Girls soccer organizers are holding a meeting this coming Tuesday at followed by an instructional coaching course conducted by the CNMI National Team's Steve McKagan.
MISO's third set of sports starting this March includes outrigger, girls fast-pitch softball, track, golf, and boys soccer. The game schedule is still being finalized.
