WIA lauds Cindy Aldan

Candelaria “Cindy” Aldan of the Military Integration Management Committee's office will be leaving island in a few weeks to further her education in the U.S. mainland. As an active Workforce Investment Agency participant, Aldan was interviewed and selected to train with the Lt. Governor's Office under the supervision and guidance of Teresa Kim, the lieutenant governor's legal counsel.

Concurrent with her training, she also managed to attain her A.A.S. degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting from the Northern Marianas College this past fall semester. Through the WIA program, Candelaria was ultimately transitioned into permanent employment with the MIMC office, under the supervision of the Lt. Governor's Office, a post that she is saddened to leave so soon.

When asked about her journey, Aldan explained, “It was tough. Through my training, there were high expectations and standards, but it was well worth the challenge.”

Aldan expressed her gratitude for having the opportunity to go through the WIA program and more importantly, the opportunity to be selected and transitioned to full employment under the Lt. Governor's Office. From her initial assignment as receptionist and clerical work, Aldan quickly found herself taking on financial reports and analyses not just for the Lt. Governor's Office, but also for the Executive Branch.

“WIA was my stepping stone,” added Aldan. “They opened up doors of opportunity for me and without them, I wouldn't have gained the tools and knowledge to become more independent.”

WIA is proud of Cindy's achievements and wishes her all the best on her new journey to further her education. (Office of the Governor)
