IT&E, the Marianas Communications leader, is proud to announce a new era of coverage and connectivity in the Marianas with the launch of the most complete GSM network serving the island of Rota.
Engineers and technicians installed three GSM base stations to pre-existing CDMA sites in Sinapalo, Sonsong, and Northern Marianas College in December 2012 to usher in a new era of communications in the southernmost corner of the Commonwealth.
“This is the latest step in our continuing effort to bring improved products and services to people of the Marianas,” said IT&E managing director Rose Soledad. “Our technicians are currently working on projects that will further improve our region's most complete communications network.”
IT&E network engineer Inos Yamada credited the two-week project's on-schedule completion to the hard work and cooperation between IT&E's Eric Barcinas, Ramir De Leon, John Manibusan, Ray Guerrero, and their counterparts with Pacific Micro Tower.
“Everything went as planned. Now our subscribers will be able to experience the same service and coverage enjoyed by IT&E's CDMA subscribers,” Yamada said.
Rota residents can upgrade their GSM service by trading their current SIM cards for an IT&E SIM card with a free $15 prepaid load at IT&E's Songsong office this Friday, Jan. 11, from 10am to 6pm. IT&E will also give away phones, prepaid cards, and IT&E gear during a special customer appreciation party Friday night at Aquarius Bar starting at 9pm.
