NAME: SINGERU, Franco B.
AGE: 32 Palauan, male
ADDRESS: Koblerville (Section 8 Housing)
LOCATION OF ARREST: Koblerville (residence of suspect)
DATE AND TIME OF ARREST: Jan. 7, 2013 at 9:15pm
CHARGE(S): Burglary and Theft
BAIL: $11,000 (cash)
STOLEN PROPERTY VALUE: 21 Scuba Tanks
RECOVERED PROPERTY VALUE: 17 Scuba Tanks
SYNOPSIS: Singeru was arrested for committing a burglary and theft violations at the Past Time Dive Shop in Chalan Kanoa on Oct. 7, 2012 where 21 scuba tanks were stolen. These were the same scuba tanks that were recovered from the Sky Garage Sale in San Jose across the Payless Shoe Source over the weekend. Bail was set at $11,000 (cash) by CNMI Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho. Singeru was brought to the CNMI Superior Court for a bail hearing on Jan. 8, 2013.

SYNOPSIS: Tipingeni was arrested for committing a burglary violation at the Hafa Adai Hotel Staff Housing in China Town, Garapan on Jan. 1, 2013. He was found committing the burglary inside the staff housing by the victim to this case, but fled before the police arrived. Further investigation into this case led to the identification of the suspect. Bail was set at $25,000 (cash) by CNMI Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho. Singeru was brought before the CNMI Superior Court for a bail hearing on Jan. 8, 2013.

RECOVERED PROPERTY VALUE: 17 Scuba Tanks, One Diving Suit and a Pair of Fins
SYNOPSIS: Cabael was arrested for committing a burglary and theft violations at the Past Time Dive Shop in Susupe on Oct. 7, 2012 where a total of 21 scuba tanks, several diving suits and diving fins were stolen. These were the same scuba tanks that were recovered from the Sky Garage Sale in San Jose across the Payless Shoe Source over the weekend. Bail was originally set at $11,000 (cash) by CNMI Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho, however, that amount has since been increased to $50,000 (cash) during his initial court appearance on Jan. 8, 2013. Cabael is a co-defendant of Franco B. Singeru and the actual location of the incident is in Susupe and not Chalan Kanoa as earlier reported.

SYNOPSIS: Salisiban was arrested for committing a burglary, conspiracy, criminal mischief and theft violation at the former Uno Moda Garment Factory in Afetnas on Dec. 19, 2012. Bail was set at $25,000 (cash) by the CNMI Superior Court. Salisiban was brought before the CNMI Superior Court for a bail hearing on Jan. 9, 2013.

This incident occurred on Jan. 5, 2013 and she is a co-defendant of Garry Lee Evilsizer. Bail was set at $25,000 (cash) by the CNMI Superior Court. Chen was brought before the CNMI Superior Court for a bail hearing on Jan. 9, 2013.

SYNOPSIS: Blas was arrested for committing a receiving stolen property violation at her residence in San Antonio. This incident occurred on Jan. 5, 2013 and she is a co-defendant of Mohammed Jahangir Miah. Bail was set at $500 (cash) by the CNMI Superior Court. Blas was brought before the CNMI Superior Court for a bail hearing on Jan. 9, 2013.
NOTE: Blas and Chen's arrest was made during sting operations between the Thief Apprehension Select Coalition and the CNMI Inter-agency Financial Crimes and Drug Enforcement Task Force.

Acting Commissioner Ogumoro assures the public that there are still more arrests to be made in the coming days as evidence is gathered, reports are submitted, and investigations completed. DPS will be expanding its TASC operations to the islands of Tinian and Rota.
TASC is in the process of contacting victims of burglary and theft incidents to come and claim their property. A location will be announced soon where all the recovered stolen property will be on display for victims to procure their stolen items, hopefully by Friday, Jan. 10, 2013. Time and place will be announced.
Any victim of burglary, theft, arson or other property crimes in the CNMI who has developed leads or, has any knowledge that may result in closing their case may contact Sgt. Tom Blas at (670) 664-9051 during regular business hours. Your information is critical and unless the police know it, DPS may not be able to act quickly in resolving your case.
Ogumoro would like to caution those who engage in receiving, purchasing or trading for stolen property in the CNMI. Anyone found in violation of receiving stolen property will be arrested.
Should you encounter anyone suspicious and who may be selling merchandise that appears to be stolen or without proper documentation (receipts), you are advised to call and report the matter to the police immediately.
