Northern Mariana Islands Swimming Federation will hold its first competition of the year with the staging of the NMISF Time Trial Meet tomorrow at the Kan Pacific Swimming Pool in Marpi.
The meet is divided into two parts with the first session running from 9am to 11am and the afternoon races slated from 3pm to 5pm. Warm-ups are set for 8am to 9am and 2pm to 3pm. There will be six events in the morning session: 50m butterfly, 100m breaststroke, 100m butterfly, 200m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 200m individual medley, and 400m freestyle. For the afternoon session, swimmers will compete in the 50m breaststroke, 100m backstroke, 50m and 100m freestyle, 200m backstroke, and 100m breaststroke.
Tomorrow's event is the second NMISF-hosted competition for the 2012-2013 season after the federation kicked off the season with a meet in September. Just like NMISF's season-opening tournament, times in this weekend's meet will be considered for CNMI records.
Swimmers from both Saipan Swim Club and Tsunami Saipan Swimming Center are invited to the weekend tournament and participants can compete in as many events they want to. Entry fee to each event is only $3. (Saipan Tribune)
